Health Coaching

About 80% of people want to change, but only 20% succeed.

However, in one study 94% of participants achieved their primary goals when working with a health coach, and 75% experienced fewer physical symptoms related to stress.

What is the health coaching?

Health coaching is a behavioural intervention that facilitates participants to achieve and establish goals that promote their health through lifestyle-related behaviour change. In this way they can reduce risk factors, improve self-management of chronic illnesses with the ultimate goal of improving their quality of life.
By participating in health coaching, the patients are provided with the support to acquire the appropriate knowledge, develop the desired skills, use the right tools and gain the confidence to become active participants in the way they manage their health condition. This means being able to identify the goals, that are ideal for their health, set them and achieve them.
In short, through health coaching, the individual’s own potential to safeguard their health assets to the maximum is enhanced and unleashed. The aim is to make the individual aware and take responsibility for managing his or her own health situation.
Health coaching is the use of evidence-based and skilful discussions, interventions and strategies to actively and safely engage cases/patients in health behaviour change. Health coaches can safely guide patients with chronic conditions, those who are at moderate to high risk for getting chronic conditions and also those who are looking for ways to optimize their health and physical performance.

Between the patient and the guidelines there needs to be a doctor that is using his/her brain!
